Therapeutic approach

Joanna found that whilst working in an acute inpatient psychiatric hospital, she noticed she was drawn to those clients who she felt could benefit from psychological help and not solely psychotropics. This motivated her training and subsequent practice in cognitive behavioural therapy and group therapy. She continues to learn about the human experience and affect change in people’s lives. She is highly validating and empathic and finds listening and helping others move through difficulty is hugely rewarding for her.

Conditions treated

Joanna works with adults of all ages, predominantly people seeking help with anxiety, PTSD and depressive symptoms. She also supports individuals presenting with impulsive and life-threatening behaviour who additionally want to be able to make changes.
