Professional Background & Experience

Dr Ekta Sharma is a Consultant Psychiatrist with over 15 years’ experience in mental health. She specialises in assessing and managing ADHD and is known for her evidence-based, compassionate approach. Her main clinical interests are neurodevelopmental disorders and women’s mental health, which she integrates into her assessments to promote wellbeing and guide holistic care planning.

After completing her MBBS in India, Dr Sharma moved to the UK to train in Bristol and South West London across in-patient, out-patient, and specialist services, including the Tertiary Centre for OCD at Springfield Hospital. She developed interests in psychopharmacology, neuropsychiatry and somatoform disorders.

Appointed as a Consultant in 2015 with Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Trust, she led a 60-bedded in-patient unit at Farnham Road Hospital before moving into community and private practice.
