Dr Vivarelli is trained in CBT, EMDR and ACT, all of which informs her understanding of how people respond to stress and trauma, as well as the interplay between biological and psychological factors, but her role remains firmly medical. She offers psychiatric assessments, formulation, and treatment planning, and she works collaboratively with every individual to find the most appropriate and effective path forward.
Dr Vivarelli is a medically trained Consultant Psychiatrist with over 20 years of experience working with adults in both NHS mental health services and the private sector. Over the years, she has developed a calm, thoughtful and person-centred way of working, listening closely to each individual’s story to reach an accurate diagnosis and understand what truly matters to them.
A key part of how she works is the biopsychosocial model – the understanding that mental health can be shaped by the interaction between biological factors, psychosocial processes and social or environmental influences. This means she looks at the whole person – their history, relationships, stressors, strengths, physical health, and emotional world – to gain a fuller picture of what they are experiencing. This approach helps Dr Vivarelli in offering balanced, meaningful and realistic recommendations that fit a person’s life and support long-term wellbeing.
