Dr Ramya Giridhar has over 25 years’ experience supporting adults with various mental health difficulties, including 15 years working in perinatal psychiatry.
She has a special interest in preconception counselling, in addition to assessing and managing women during the perinatal period. She is also interested in personality disorders and neurodiveristy, and uses validated tools to undertake ADHD and ASD assessments.
In addition to being a clinician, Dr Giridhar has taken an active role in Medical Education as a locality tutor and Foundation Training Lead for mental health. She has developed a teaching project for the foundation years, which has been successfully implemented across Surrey and Sussex. She also holds a D Occ Med and has a keen intrest in Occupational Psychiatry, working with several occupational health providers and acting as the medical lead of the Health and Wellbeing Forum of Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Trust. She has developed a Standard Operating Procedure to manage and support Resident Doctors with disabilities, and she has delivered talks on women’s mental health challenges in the workplace.
