Dr Figueiredo takes a holistic, patient-centred approach to psychiatric care, combining comprehensive mental health assessments with specialist evaluation of sleep disorders. She integrates evidence-based treatments, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), alongside medical, behavioural and lifestyle interventions to develop personalised treatment plans that promote long-term wellbeing and resilience.
Originally from Portugal, Dr Figueiredo completed her medical degree before moving to the UK to further develop her clinical expertise. She has built extensive experience in liaison psychiatry and sleep medicine, becoming a core member of the Insomnia Clinic in London in 2018.
Alongside her clinical practice, Dr Figueiredo completed a PhD in Neuroimaging at King’s College London, where her research explored neuroinflammatory mechanisms and their effects on brain white matter. She continues to contribute to research through the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience, helping to advance understanding of the relationship between brain health, sleep and mental wellbeing.
Her clinical work combines detailed psychiatric assessment with specialist sleep medicine, enabling her to provide highly personalised care that addresses both the psychological and physical aspects of mental health.
